Obituary of Dale Gooch
Dale Gooch, of Morris, passed away peacefully at the age of 87, on Wednesday, March 6, 2024, surrounded by his loving family. Dale retired from Brandon Road Lock and Dam in Joliet after 19 years of service. Dale proudly served with the US Marine Corps from September 4, 1953, to January 1, 1957.
Dale is preceded in death by his parents, Bessi (nee Evans) and Oscar "Hoopie" Gooch; his sister, Marlene Smith of Morris; two brothers, Paul and Gary Gooch of Fairmount, IL and also his beloved grandson, Michael Gooch of Morris.
Dale is survived by his loving wife, Judith (Olinger) Gooch of 33 years, along with his six children; his son, Dale R. Gooch of Morris; daughters, Sherry Hyde of Rogersville, MO, Lori Gooch-Hopkins of Strafford, MO; his loving step-children, Jennifer Saindon of Channahon, James Vari of Minooka and David Vari of Morris. Dale also leaves behind 12 grandchildren and one great-grandchild; two nieces and one nephew from his sister, Marlene along with Debbie Punke and Tina Brookman of Mazon and Mike Smith of Seneca.
Private graveside services for Dale will be held at a later date at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery with full United States Marine Corp. Honors along with Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery Memorial Squad.
