Obituary of Diane Miller

Diane Miller

(nee Kane)

Diane Miller went Home to be with her Lord and Savior at the age of 75, on Sunday, March 3, 2024, at St. Joseph Medical Center, surrounded by her loving family.  Diane was born in Wilmington, DE, on January 18, 1949, the daughter of the late Kenneth and late Lorraine (nee Wilkinson) Kane.  She grew up in Joliet, IL, and was a graduate of Joliet East High School and Silver Cross Hospital School of Nursing.  Diane retired from Amsurg Surgery Center and served 55 rewarding years as a Registered Nurse.

Diane was a devoted member of Mission Bible Church and generous contributor to numerous charitable organizations. Diane lived a life of serving others, including her love for baking the best desserts for everyone. When Diane wasn’t enjoying her Bible Study or baking for others, she could be found indulged in a book. Just as much as Diane loved reading, she also had a love for shopping.

Diane is survived by her only child, Bryan (Karin) Miller; two grandchildren, Reiley and Rayna Miller; and her siblings, Miriam “Mimi” Kane, Johnny (Liz) Kane, Neil (Rita) Swanson, and Sharman (the late Dave) Strode.  Numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins also survive.

Diane was preceded by her mom and dad, Lorraine and Neil Swanson Sr.; her father, Kenneth J. Kane; and her sister, Judie Moss.
